Democracy, or the rule by the people, is a form of government in which the power is exercised collectively, and in which people have the right to freely express their opinions and concerns. More than half of the countries in the world are democratic. 

Ipokrate believes in democracy and freedom of expression, and is celebrating the International Day of Democracy in order to urge all governments to respect their citizens' right to active and substantive participation.
