What does the administrative information posted for membership become?


All the administrative information provided for registration are completely safe and secure. They can be changed and updated at any time and are never shared in total or in part with any third party. 

What does the medical information posted become?


IPOKRATE platform is a private closed network allowed only for Medical Doctors community. The privacy and limitation for membership secure all the medical information shared only between profesionnals and stay totally and constantly the property of the initiator.  

What are the medical specialties that can be part of IPOKRATE?


All medical specialists and subspecialists are allowed to get into Ipokrate platform and to become active members. They can exchange, interact and chat with colleagues having the same medical specialty and clinical interests, as well with any doctor or group of doctors from any other medical specialty.

Does membership lead to financial commitments?


Members can benefit from all the features of the platform, publish clinical cases and articles, exchange with colleagues, access all the library articles and presentations and much more entirely free of charge. 

What information is required for membership?


Doctors should provide their full name, date of birth, work address, ID photo and an email. Moreover, they should attest on the honor that they are active Medical Doctors. Wherein Ipokrate will keep the right at any time to delete completely any account if the information given is not accurate.

Who can join IPOKRATE community?


Any Medical Practitioner and Specialist registered near the Ministry of Health and/or the Order of Physicians of the country where he /she is practicing can become an active member of IPOKRATE platform.

Shall I have to create my own password?


During the registration process, you will be asked to create and confirm your Ipokrate platform access password. It should be easy for you to remember and hard for others to guess. Also, it should be different than the passwords you are using for others accounts and should not be similar to your email, phone number or birthday. To strengthen your password, it is highly recommended to use together uppercase and lowercase letters mixed with numbers and special characters.  

Can I control which colleague I want to befriend or follow?


The spirit of Ipokrate platform is to connect Medical Doctors having and sharing the same clinical interests in order to receive automatically posts related to your specialty. At any time you can modify your clinical interests and you can start receiving posts related to the new clinical interests you have subscribed in.

Can I choose colleagues with whom I want to share my activities?


Automatically, your posts, comments, presentations, clinical cases, articles, videos and announcements will be shared with all doctors having the same clinical interest than you. They will appear instantly in their news feed. But you also have the possibility to select people (one or more) with whom you want to share a specific information.  

Can a specialized center, a hospital or an academic institution join Ipokrate?


Can I choose the language with which I want to interact?


When completing your registration and filling your profile, you will be given the possibility to choose your preferred language. So if available, it will be the language of your profile and the one you will use automatically to write your posts and comments. Ipokrate gives you also the possibility to translate any post you receive written in another language than the one you have chosen initially.

Can I delete my account if I decide to quit Ipokrate?


At any moment, you have the possibility to delete part or your total account. If so, all the articles, presentations, videos and personal information you have stored will be instantly removed and your account will be deactivated while the posts you have already sent will remain in the network but with no more interaction if somebody tries to comment on them.

Can my Contacts be uploaded to my Ipokrate account?


 Your account is completely disconnected from any information stored on your mobile phone, Ipad or computer. Your contacts will never be uploaded and used by Ipokrate platform.

How to unfriend or to block someone?


You have the possibility and the right to unfriend and to block someone. Once done, they will no longer be able to find you, to write to you, to send you any post or to follow your activities.

To block someone, go through the following steps:

- Go to Settings.

- Click on Blocking Someone.

- Enter the name of the person you want to block.

- Select the specific person you want to block from the list that appears.

- Click Block.

How do you create an Ipokrate account?


You must be an active Medical Doctor and be at least 23 year old to create an Ipokrate account. 

The different steps to create an account:

- Go to www.ipokrate.com/register.

-  Enter your name, title, email, country of residence, date of birth, specialty, clinical interests and preferred language.

- Click "Sign Up"

- To valid your account, you need to confirm your email. 

Why if you did not receive the Email for confirmation from Ipokrate?


 In case you did not receive any email after completing the registration form and having trouble confirming your email address, try the following steps: 

- Click here to view the email address you entered.

- If you entered the wrong email address, click Wrong email.

- Enter the correct email and click Add.

- Go to your email and confirm it.  

How to reconnect with someone already blocked?


At any time, you have the possibility to unblock someone you have previously blocked to access your account. Once done, he will be able instantly to interact with you by accessing your profile, sending to you posts and receiving yours. 

To do so, go through the following steps:

- Go to Settings.

- Click on Unblocking Someone.

- A list of blocked account will appear.

- Select the specific person you want to unblock.

- Click Unblock.

What does your homepage consist on?


Your homepage is what you see each time you log in to Ipokate platform. It comprises your News Feed, the posts from the person with whom you share the same clinical interests and the groups you are in constantly updated, the medical and newspaper articles recently posted, an updated list of congresses and events, the recently posted humanitarian missions and job opportunities, and what's new from the medical research and innovations. 

What does my News Feed consist of?


News Feed consists of the list of posts (stories - photos - clinical situations - videos - letter - articles - links - updates - etc...) located in the middle of your homepage followed each one by the different comments done by members. 

Can I adjust my Ipokrate News Feed preferences?


You can adjust your News Feed preferences to better control what you wish to see on your News Feed. To check or to modify your News Feed preferences, go through the following:

- Click XX in the top right corner of your Ipokrate homepage.

- Select News Feed preferences.

- Click Block people and groups to unfollow a person or a group.

- Click Reconnect with blocked people and groups to follow them again.

- Click Prioritize who to see first to give the priority to the selected people or group posts to appear first.

- Click See More Options / Blocked to see which people or groups have been blocked from your account.   

How can I adjust to see on my News Feed the most recent posts?


By default, the News Feed shows the most popular and interactive posts first. If you want temporarily to see posts by the time of their upload to the platform, go through the following:

- Click Home at the top of Ipokrate.

- Click News Feed ranking of appearence.

- Select Most Recent. 

How can I react to posts and comments?


Commenting on a post gives you the opportunity to express what you think about the content of the post. To do so, you go to the space Post Your Comment located under the main post and you can write your comments and push Enter or Share. At any time, you can change or modify your comment by clicking on it and making all the modifications you wish. By doing so, your comment returns to the top place like any new comment.      

How can "Search" be useful to me and what information can I get?


To initiate a search on Ipokrate platform, you have to click the Search Bar at the top of your homepage and type what you are looking for. When writing your request, predictions for what you are searching for may appear. You can use one of them if it suits your request. 

You can guide your search by clicking on Guide and choosing among the drop list the item which most meets your request (people, article, video, presentations, job opportunity, products, drug, congress, etc...). You can also use keywords for your search and select from the list of results you have obtained.   

Does the Search history remain on my homepage?


When you type any query on the Search bar, you initiate a list of predicted results related to the request you have formulated. These Search Predictions do not correspond to any previous search you have done. 

However, if you click on the Search Bar without entering any request, you generate a list with all the previous search queries you have already used.

You can also clear your Previous Searches. 

Can I choose the language I want to use?


When registering your account, you will be asked to choose your preferred language. Your homepage and all the status you will post will be written in the selected language by default. 

At any time, you can access Settings, choose "preferred Language" and change the language you want to use from this point. 

In case you receive a post written in another language than the one you have chosen, you have the possibility to use Translate and get it in the language you desire.

Can I translate my News Feed posts and comments?


To translate a comment or a post written in another language that you have chosen, click Translate below and on the left side of the post or comment. 

The initial language of the post will be automatically recognized and the translated language will be your Preferred Language by default.

Can I change the language that post or comments are translated to?


When requested, posts or comments are translated to the language you have chosen as "Preferred Language", but at any moment you can change this language by going through the following:

- Click XX on the top right of your homepage and select Settings

- Click "Preferred Language"

- Click on the language you would like your posts to be translated to

- Click Save Changes. 

How can I send a message to a group or a member?


Messaging from Ipokrate is very easy. You can send it to a member or to a group you are in. Your message can contain text, photos, videos, stickers, GIFs and more. 

If you have any doubt about a message you have received or it seems like a spam or makes you uncomfortable, you can immediatly inform us in order to check its origin and take the necessay measures.  

How can I send messages on Ipokrate?


You can send a message to any member on Ipokrate platform sharing your clinical interests or not. To do so, go through the following:

- Click on Messages on the top right of your homepage

- Select New Message

- Select your correspondent by typing his name under the field TO.

- A drop down list will appear with the names corresponding to what you have written. Select the person you want to message.

- Type your message in the space dedicated for it

- Press enter on your computer or click Send to send your message.

You can also message someone by going to his profile and clicking on Message.

  

What happens when I send a message to someone?


When you send a message to someone, it instantly gets delivered to his Message Inbox. A sign in red (number of unread messages) will appear at the top right of the Message Inbox stating that you have received a message. Once the person reads the message, the red sign disappears and on your side, unread will be replaced by seen.

How can I follow the status of the message I have sent?


When you send a message to someone, you will see different text boxes and signs indicating the status of your message. These text boxes and signs will appear at the down right side of your message.

- After sending a message, a text box with Sent and a curved blue arrow will appear.

- When the message is read, a text box with Seen and a blue gray check mark will appear. 

Can I remove a message I have sent already?


How can I associate a file to my message?


Before sending your message, you can add a file (word text, photos, videos, pdf files, and more). To do so, go through the following:

- Click the sign "trombone" on the left of the messaging window

- Select the source where your file is stored.

- Select the file you want to associate

- Click Open and wait for it to become uploaded correctly (blue).

- Press Enter on your computer or Send on your screen to send.  

How can I send a message to a group?


If you are a member of a group, you can send a message to all members of this group regardless of their number. All members will receive the message and are able to interact and to reply. To do so, go through the following steps:

Click on Messages on the top right of your homepage

- Select New Message

- Select the group you want to write to by typing his name under the field TO.

- A drop down list will appear with the corresponding names of the groups. Select the one you want to message.

- Type your message in the space dedicated for it.

- Press enter on your computer or click Send to send your message.

You can also message a group by going to the group homepage and clicking on Message on the top of this homepage. You can directly write your message.

How can I leave a group conversation?


You have the possibility to follow the different comments sent by the different members of a group and interact with them. You will have also the possibility to quit a group conversation. To do so, go through the following steps:

- Click on Message on the top right of your homepage.

- Click on Conversation.

- Select Options.

- Select Leave Group - Leave Conversation.

In this way, you stay a member of the group while leaving this specific conversation. At any time, you can reconnect with this conversation.   

Can I send a message to a Private group?


Even if you are not a member of a Private group, you have the possibility to send a message to the Group Administrator. He can write to you back and also has the possibility to forward it to all members of the Private Group. He also can give you the opportunity to become a member of this Private Group and get all the benefits from it.

Who can see my Ipokrate messages?


Only you and the people you have included on your correspondent list can view, read and reply to your messages.

Each conversation is unique and belongs to one particular thread. There is no interaction between different conversations even if the people conversing are the same.

Even if a member has received a conversation, he will be able to take a sceenshot, copy and paste it and forward it to any member of the platform.

Also, when new members join a Private Group, they will have the possibility to read and check all previous conversations.  

From whom can you receive messages?


You can receive messages from two different sources. 

The first source corresponds to people who share the same Clinical Interest than you and people belonging to the same Private Groups than you. These messages will show on the top right corner of the Message box indicating teh number of unread messages.

The second source corresponds to any member of Ipokrate community who does not share the same Clinical Interests than you. The sent message will appear on the top right corner of the Messages box as unread messages.   

To what correspond the Messages Requests and how to interact with them?


Messages requests are sent to you by people who do not have the same Clinical Interests than you. Once they share at least one Clinical Interest as you, their messages will fall in your regular Messages Inbox.   

If you wish, you have the possibility to reply to these Messages Requests in the same way you can do with the Regular Messages.
