The International Day of Sign Languages is a unique opportunity to support and protect the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of all deaf people and other sign language users. 

Sign language is a means of communication between deaf people which uses visual-manual modality, or hand articulations, to express meanings. Approximately, 100,000 to 500,000 deaf people around the world use sign language to communicate.

Ipokrate is observing the International Day of Sign Languages to celebrate deaf people around the world, and to raise awareness of the importance of sign language as a way by which the human rights of deaf people may be achieved.
