According to WHO, every year in the world there are an estimated 40 to 50 million abortions, which corresponds to approcimately 125,000 abortions per day.

IPOKRATE is observing this day to raise awareness of abortion. As the American Cardinal Bernard Law said: "Depriving an innocent human being of life has always been a monstrous moral evil". Also , John Paul II viewed the day as "a positive option in favor of life and the spread of a culture for life to guarantee respect for human dignity in every situation"
