It recognizes that "the Earth and its ecosystems are our home" and that it is necessary to promote harmony between human beings and the surrounding nature. The term of  “Mother Earth” was used because it reflects the interdependence that exists among human beings, other living species and the planet we all inhabit. 

Ipokrate believes that celebrating International Mother Earth serves as a powerful reminder of our planet’s fragility and our urgent need to protect it.
