When anesthesia was discovered surgeries became far safer and free of pain. In the 1960s and 70s, a death was related to anesthesia in every 10,000 patients. Nowadays, however, it is the cause of death in one out of 200,000 patients. Anaesthesia is becoming safer every day because of advanced technologies and medication.

Ipokrate is celebrating the World Anesthesia Day to commemorate the first successful demonstration of anaesthesia by William T. G. Morton on October 16th 1846, and to raise awareness of the importance of anaesthesia for medical development.
