Established in 2012 by the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) in collaboration with other health organisations, the day focuses on educating the public about risk factors such as smoking, air pollution, and occupational exposures, while advocating for research and improved access to care. 

Ipokrate beleives that World Lung Cancer Day serves as a platform to support those affected by the disease and to emphasise the critical need for collective action in the fight against lung cancer.
