1. Psychological First Aid: Supporting Mental Health During the Times of Crisis - November 17, 2023
Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence-informed approach that is built on the concept of human resilience. PFA aims to reduce stress symptoms and assist in a healthy coping mechanism following a stressor event: natural disaster, war, public health emergency, or even a personal crisis... In this 3-hour curriculum learn what psychological first aid is and is not, how to provide it responsibly, who can provide it, when and where it should be provided, and when someone should be referred for more specialized care. This scenario-based course walks you through the four main principles of PFA—Prepare, Look, Listen and Link. The content of this workshop is based on the guide for field workers created by the World Health Organization, War Trauma Foundation and World Vision International on how to provide PFA to people affected by conflict, disaster, or disease.
2. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Strategies and Techniques - November 18, 2023
