Hand Fracture Course on Kirschner Wire Fixation Techniques using 3D printed models
Hands-on

An innovative and well-structured course using a variety of 3D printed hand biomimetic models to learn and practice hand fracture fixation techniques. The unique features of 3D printing allow for anatomically accurate models to be used by the participants which are able to mimic the strength of the two cortices and the medullary canal found in human bones. Our hand biomimetic models provide the right contrast and radio- opacity allowing the use of C-arm during the K-wire fixation and therefore provide the participants the perfect simulation training opportunities.

The course is aimed at all levels of Plastic and Orthopaedic Surgery trainees. Over this one day course the aim will be to familiarize and gain experience with identification, manipulation and fixation of hand fractures using Kirschner wire fixation techniques.

The course, in addition to the practical aspect, will also include both video and live demonstration of techniques performed by ex
