Overview
Interstitial Lung Diseases represent a complex and diverse group of pulmonary conditions that require a multidisciplinary approach for accurate diagnosis and effective management. The ILD course was developed to enhance the knowledge and skills of physicians specialized in pulmonary medicine.
The training includes expert-led didactic lectures on key ILD topics such as sarcoidosis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and the genetics of ILD. It also includes interactive workshops focused on diagnostic strategies, imaging, bronchoscopy, and lung biopsy, as well as the clinical management and follow-up of patients.
Objectives
Upon the completion of the course, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the clinical presentation, classification, and genetic basis of various Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILDs), including sarcoidosis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, RB-ILD, and LAM.
- Develop diagnostic skills through a multidisciplinary approach involving clinical evaluation, imaging interpretation, and appropriate use of bronchoscopy and lung biopsy.
- Enhance the ability to interpret chest imaging, including X-rays, CT scans, and high-resolution CT scans, in the context of ILD.
- Provide practical guidance on the follow-up and management of ILD patients using tools such as pulmonary function tests, six-minute walk tests, and exercise testing.
- Explore the pulmonary involvement in connective tissue diseases and its impact on ILD diagnosis and management.
